  20. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  21. 1 sprig curry leaves
  22. 2 tbsp ghee
  23. 2 tbsp fried onions for garnishing
  24. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves garnishing

Instructions to make to make Dal Khichdi

  1. Wash the rice and dal together 3 to 4 times. Then soak and keep aside for 25 mins. Heat oil or ghee in a Kadai add jeera,hing fry for a few seconds, add sliced onions fry till golden brown then add peas, potatoes and carrot and stir fry for a few mins.
  2. Then add ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste stir fry,then add haldi powder, coriander powder, jeera powder, kitchen king masala & red chilli powder stir fry the masala if too dry add little water cook for a few mins till water dries on high flame, add chopped tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes are well mashed and mixed with the masala
  3. Add the washed rice and dal mix it with the masala add enough water to cook the khichdi soft,add salt. Cover and cook on high flame till it boils then on medium flame till its soft.
  4. In a small tadka pan heat ghee add mustard seeds when they splutter add curry leaves and then pour this on the khichdi mix it well.
    While serving garnish with fried onions and green coriander leaves
