Instructions to make to make Kali Peeli Dal

  1. Take a mixing bowl, add both Dal, wash it nicely. Soak in water overnight. Strain it, keep aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker, add dal, hing, salt, haldi powder & oil, add 4 cup water. Place the lid, give 5 whistles at high flame. Lower the flame, cook it for 10 minutes.
  3. Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally.
  4. Open the lid, whisk dal gently. Take out in bowl, keep aside.
  5. Take a pan, add ghee, heat it. Add hing & zeera, let it splutter.
  6. Add onion, stir fry it till light brown.
  7. Now add tomato & salt, stir it. Add very lil water. Lower the flame, cover it with the lid, cook it until oil has oozed out.
  8. Open the lid, increase the flame, add red chilli flakes, stir it.
  9. Add dahi now, stir it. Cover it again, lower the flame, cook it till oil separates.
  10. Pour this tadka over the cooked dal, do not mix it. Add chopped dhania patta.
  11. Mix it, serve it with Roti..
